We’re standing at a crossroads: the power about to be unleashed utterly dwarfs anything we have ever encountered in our history as a species, and the stakes are monumental. If we proceed without appropriate caution, AI could devastate everything we cherish including our very existence.

The emergence of an AI more powerful than anything we’ve encountered previously seems only a matter of time. By putting common sense safeguards in place, we can steer this power toward a future where the risks are managed thoughtfully.
